Useful Information

Are there any driver restrictions?

To be covered by our insurance, all drivers must

  • Be aged between 25 and 75
  • Have held a full UK or EU driving licence for a minimum of 2 years
  • Have not had their licence suspended for any period within the last 3 years
  • Have not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last 3 years
  • Have no more than 2 convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.

Please note however that we are happy to discuss any individual exceptions to the criteria above with our insurers and can often be flexible in known circumstances.

What documentation do I need to provide?

Customers driving the Herdy Campervan must provide;

  • Both parts of their valid UK or EU driving licence
  • Their national insurance number, or valid driving licence check code (this is required for a DVLA check on the driving licence)
  • 2 utility bills providing proof of address dated within 3 months of the hire date

Ideally, these should  be forwarded by email at least one week prior to the hire date to allow time for the insurance checks to be carried out.

Can we add an additional driver?

Additional drivers can be added to the insurance cover at no extra cost but would need to provide all the necessary documentation at check in.

Can I bring a dog?

For the enjoyment of all our customers, we have chosen to keep Herdy Campervans pet free.

Will I be shown around my Herdy Campervan when I collect it?

Please allow around an hour when you collect your Herdy Campervan so we can go through the paperwork and show you around your vehicle. We will do our best to help you get the most from your camping adventure.

What should I bring along?

We have put together a printable inventory for the Herdy Campervan, together with a check list of items you may want to bring with you.
